NORTH KINGSVILLE - Roy W. Parker, 72, of Haddam Road, died Tuesday, July 16,
2002, at the IHS of Erie at Bayside Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Bellaire, Ohio, to Roy E. and Irene Parker. He lived in North Kingsville the last 50 years.
Mr. Parker was employed by the former General Tire, now known as the Vygen Corporation, and retired as an engineer. He served with the Merchant Marines for several years.
He was a member of the West Springfield, Pa., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Eagles 408, Loyal Order of Moose 472 and American Legion Cowle Post 151.
Mr. Parker is survived by a brother, James Parker of Bellaire.
He was preceded in death by his parents and longtime companion Marie Sharp.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, and will be officiated by The Rev. Walter Coy of the United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Gageville Cemetery.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
