John M. "Rebel" Rebera, Jr.

 

CONNEAUT — John M. "Rebel" Rebera, Jr., 36, of Liberty St., Conneaut, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon,5_22__Rebera_Obit_eps May 19, 2003, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital of a probable coronary.

Born September 30, 1966, in Conneaut, OH, the son of John M. Rebera, Sr. and Mary "Butchie" (Fassnacht) Brockway.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in Okinawa, Japan, completing three years of service in 1985. He was employed by Horton Pre-Cast Concrete in Girard, PA, Foseco Manufacturing for twelve years, and was currently employed with Frigic and Daub Concrete Contractors.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #408, and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #472. He enjoyed motorcycles, yard work, gardening (roses), cooking, and being with all of his friends, children, and his pets Bailey, Thomas, and Becca.

Survivors include his father, of St. Petersburg, FL; his mother, of Conneaut; his wife and best friend, Lynn L. (Taylor) Rebera, whom he married January 16, 1988; his sister, Marlo A. Rebera of Ashtabula; two brothers, Jeff Rebera of Kingsford, MI, and Brandon "Brock" Brockway of Ft. Bragg, NC; his "Gram," Kay Sanford of Conneaut; nieces and nephews, Steven and Tyler Hill, Jade Sponaugle, Tony and Justin Santiago, Anthony Rebera, Alexis and Spencer Altier, Alex and Buzzy Taylor; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manny Fassnacht, Jean Post, Lawrence Rebera, Mary Ann Kamppi, and Charles "PaPa" Sanford.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2003, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Dave Hockey, pastor of Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery.

Calling hours will be at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lynn L. Rebera. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
